Terms of Service
Catholic & Orthodox Bible ยท Last updated 28 August 2026
1. Acceptance
By installing or using Catholic & Orthodox Bible ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What the app is
The app is an offline Bible reader. It provides Scripture in the Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox canons, along with reading tools: search, highlights, notes and bookmarks. It works without a network connection and without an account.
3. Cost and advertising
The Scripture text, offline reading, search, notes and highlights are provided at no cost. Nothing in Scripture itself is placed behind a payment. The app is supported by advertising supplied by Google AdMob; ads appear around the reading experience โ on the Library and Settings screens, on opening the app, and when moving between sections โ and never within or between passages of Scripture. See the Privacy Policy for what AdMob collects and how to limit it.
4. Your content
Notes, highlights and bookmarks you create are yours. They are stored only on your device; we never receive them and claim no rights over them. You can export them at any time from Settings. Because they are stored on your device only, uninstalling the app deletes them, and we cannot recover them for you.
5. Scripture text and licensing
Translations bundled with the app are in the public domain or openly licensed, obtained from eBible.org: the World English Bible, the Douay-Rheims (1899) and Brenton's translation of the Septuagint. Versification tables are from the United Bible Societies. The app does not grant you rights over these texts beyond those their own licences give you.
6. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to decompile, redistribute or resell the app itself. Do not use it to break any law that applies to you. Beyond that, read freely.
7. Accuracy
Scripture text is reproduced from the sources above and validated against published versification tables, but the app is provided without warranty of textual accuracy. For matters of doctrine, study or liturgy, consult an authoritative printed edition and your own tradition's guidance. Report any error you find to the contact address below and it will be corrected.
8. Availability
The app is provided "as is". Because it works offline and requires no server, there is no uptime commitment to make and no service for us to interrupt. We may publish updates that add, change or remove features.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including loss of notes or highlights stored on your device. Export your notes if they matter to you.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The date above shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
